A Gentle Start to a New Year

Updated: Jan 11

January’s Gift: Learning, Restoration and Quiet Interactions

Divine Soul,

January feels like a pause, a soft hush after the hectic brightness of December.  The air is cold, the pace slower, but our hearts are warmer than ever.  We are optimistic and welcome the New Year in hope of the endless opportunities ahead.

Many of us may be asking ourselves, "What do I really need right now?" Or "What do I do?" Or even better, "What do I want?"

For me, this month is about collaboration, team work and self-restoration.  I ease into the year, not with pressure but with a promise to listen, reflect, and move gently through each moment as it comes. I often begin with a quiet ritual: A warm bath, time in prayer, a journal open beside me, and a whisper to the Divine, asking for guidance.

This month, I am also proud of the culmination of my first course, The 3 Minute, 3 Week, Transformational Program. This course was born during a family vacation to Yellowstone National Park, a place where nature reveals itself as raw, powerful and deeply alive.

During that time, I prayed and meditated, asking God to guide me in helping others find joy, love and meaning in life, especially those walking through grief, confusion, despair, or uncertain of which path to take.

This course will be available soon and is an invitation to reconnect with your divine self, to gently become aware of your thoughts and emotions, and to move away from judgment toward others and yourself.  It offers simple daily practices to help you return to the present moment, where healing, clarity and meaning begin.

This program comes with beautiful photos I captured throughout Yellowstone as a reminder that you are never alone on your path as you begin to navigate the promising New Year of 2026!

Here are a few ways I honor January:

  • I take a Healing and Restoring Bath.

    • Essential Oils, Raw Honey, Coconut Oil & Cinnamon, Raw Brown Sugar, A Small Candle, Post-Bath Fuel (A glass of water and a healthy snack, like berries, or a mandarin).

  • I take walks during my lunch break, even in the chill, just to breathe and notice. I look for red cardinals and ladybugs. However, sometimes I find ladybugs in my house. I take a photo, count the spots and look for the meaning of the number.

  • I eat twelve green grapes, connecting each one with a written goal for the New Year.

  • I read, I reflect, and I give myself permission to just be.  I often do this with a cup of coffee or tea.

What about you? How do you honor this first month of the year?
